Forge Motorsport Honda Civic FK2 Oil Cooler Kit

The Forge Motorsport oil cooler kit for the Honda Civic Type R FK2 2015-on uses a genuine Setrab oil cooler with the dimensions 490(w) x 124(h) x40mm(d). Although there are lots of oil coolers on the market, this oil cooler lent itself perfectly to the Civics front grill area and comes from a very respected manufacturer.

Sitting in full air flow and mounted correctly with the oil flowing into the top of the oil cooler and exiting though the lower outlet, this avoids any chance of cavitation occurring within the oil cooler. Many people mount their oil coolers incorrectly which in turn stops them from working as well as they could.

Forge Motorsport have designed a remote thermostat housing (there is no thermostat in place) as this was designed for race use only, however a thermostat can be fitted if it is needed in colder climates. Be wary of cheap thermostats as they can damage the oil cooler if they become seized closed. Made from billet aluminium and anodised black for anti corrosion purposes, complete with anodised AN-8 Fittings and a CNC machined sandwich plate for the oil filter. The clearance around the sump and position of the oil filter is very limited for space on the Type R and hence a regular sandwich plate with built in thermostat could not be used for this application.

The kit includes all the brackets and fixings necessary to mount this kit securely along with all aluminium AN (Dash) fittings - NO cheap hose clamps here, full installation instructions and stainless steel braided oil hoses, with black nylon overbraid.
