By placing the radiator and intercoler in a V layout at the front of the engine bay, cooling is enhanced by a direct supply of fresh air, which is channelled to make the most of its capacity. This layout is ideal for RX-7s tuned for track use or drifting, where cooling management is a key factor in performance and reliability.Compared to the first version, this kit has been improved by taking a number of points into consideration. For example, the angle of the radiator has been defined to maximise the velocity of the airflow and the piping configuration has been optimised for ventilated bonnets. In addition, plates have been fitted to the radiator and intercooler to guide the air and prevent it escaping through the bumper openings. Available as part of the full kit, the air filters have been positioned as far forward as possible so as not to be overly affected by the heat from the engine.Standard Kit FeaturesThe standard kit is recommended for aftermarket turbos. It includes a Type 19F intercooler (core dimensions: 266 x 400 x 100 mm), an aluminium racing radiator (dimensions: 355 x 631 x 48 mm), the intercooler piping on the compression side (cold air) only, and a breather tank. The battery must be relocated. The kit is compatible with FD3S from 08/1993 to 08/2002 with chassis numbers from 200000 to 600000. It can be fitted to 100000 chassis, provided the A/C tube is bent (low pressure side).Full Kit for 93-95 FD3S FeaturesThe full kit is recommended for stock turbos on pre-facelift models. It includes a Type 19F intercooler (core dimensions: 266 x 400 x 100 mm), an aluminium racing radiator (dimensions: 355 x 631 x 48 mm), two Airinx S air filters, suction tubes, complete intercooler piping and a breather tank. The battery must be relocated. The kit is compatible with FD3S from 08/1993 to 12/1995 with chassis numbers from 200000 to 600000. It can be fitted to 100000 chassis, provided the A/C tube is bent (low pressure side).Full Kit for 96-02 FD3S FeaturesThe full kit is recommended for stock turbos on facelift models. It includes a Type 19F intercooler (core dimensions: 266 x 400 x 100 mm), an aluminium racing radiator (dimensions: 355 x 631 x 48 mm), two Airinx S air filters, suction tubes, complete intercooler piping and a breather tank. The kit is compatible with FD3S from 01/1996 to 08/2002 with chassis numbers from 400000 to 600000.Electric Fan Extension Harness (Optional)Installation of these kits requires the electric fan harness to be extended. GReddy offers two optional solutions for different RX-7 models. The 91-98 FD3S harness is suitable for Efini type 1 to 4 models (chassis numbers 100000 to 400000). Please note that FD3S produced around 12/1998 have the "Mazda" connector type (type 5-6), so please check which solution is suitable for your vehicle by referring to the visual above.
