The RacingLine Stage 3+ Carbon Ceramic brake kit introduces CCM Carbon Ceramic braking technology to the MQB platform, a global first. Not only is each disc close to half the weight of the small factory disc, the kit is packed with motorsport-inspired features. Astonishing stopping performance, again and again and again. RacingLine’s 380mm rotor construction interweaves discontinuous carbon fibre to form a 3D multi-directional matrix. Which adds up to great weight savings, performance and durability versus traditional steel brakes. Most importantly, even with the size of these CCM discs, they weigh in at nearly half the mass of the (much smaller) factory steel ones. That's a big difference to unsprung weight. As RacingLine’s kit is engineered exclusively for VWG cars (rather than the generic calipers that others offer), they’ve invested significant development time to define piston sizes perfectly to match to VWG’s master cylinders and servos for beautiful progressive pedal response. Despite the size of these calipers, they weigh in significantly under the mass of the factory ones. The caliper, pads and bracket assembly together weigh 11.7lb (5.3kg) vs 18.9lb (8.6kg) for the stock Golf 7R / S3 equivalent. CCM-specific brake pads are included with the kit. RacingLine have thoughtfully specified a generic pad size for this kit, meaning a wide choice of alternative CCM pad brands & compounds are available if you have your personal favorite, or you're planning hard track use.
